When I look back at photo's of myself as a tween (between the ages of 10-12 years old) I cringe. Awkward images where I didn't know what to do with myself. Typically with a look on my face that is trying to figure out what the school photographer wants from me, resulting in an open mouthed (with teeth bigger than my head) smile that to this day make me ____. Remember what it was like? I don't know very many people who loved that age & felt totally comfortable in their own skin.

The tween age can be bumpy. Girls (& boys) are often still finding out who they really are. They are not really a kid anymore, yet, not a teenager either. And they are not sure if those unique qualities about themselves are really cool, or just weird.

I hate to see this age get swallowed up in the false images from magazines to TV shows about what is normal & beautiful.

For this reason, I am taking some time during the months of January to May to helping young girls build confidence & self-esteem. ‍

The Tween Project‍

The purpose of this project is to help adolescent girls look & feel beautiful both inside & out - & feel secure in themselves before they hit high school. I want them to see that their unique qualities are what make them the amazing individuals that they are.

I want to capture their personality at the last stage of their childhood before they become young women. I want them to recognize their true beauty. And to see what others that love them see. Imagine the impact a single beautiful image can have on a tween's self-image.

How to participate: ‍

The in-studio session itself is complimentary for the first 2 registrants *. Upon booking, you will be required to fill out a questionnaire about your tween. And more than 1 person can fill this out. Include both parents, siblings, grandparents etc... The more I know about your tween the better. At the session we will include hair styling & a very light make up application. I encourage to bring 2-3 different outfit changes. Including one that defines their serious interests (I.e. a sports outfit, dance outfit, anything that shows who they are at this age & what they love)

After the session we will arrange an ordering appointment for you to see all of the images & choose which ones you want. Images start at $275. Collections begin at $800. Each image is a Matted Fine Art Print (11x14" Mat with 8x10" print opening)

Options to add a beautiful 11x14" frame will be provided. Everything purchased will be given to you digitally as well.

The final images are your choice. There is no hard sell at this appointment. It's my job to take beautiful images that you & your daughter will LOVE & cherish with the hopes you will want them all.

You will also be presented with Images with quotes from your questionnaire! This is an empowering photographic experience for pre-teen girls & their families. * For bookings after the first 2, the session fee/deposit is $150.
